This Gameness pearl gi review features a 550g pre-shrunk top, ripstop pants and the collar of the gi is also ripstop. There are patches on the shoulders and lapel and some cool taping along the bottom of the skirt and the pants.
At the time of its release, nobody else had really done a gi like this, so it was pretty cool, but even with lots of other ‘pearl’ weave gis on the market, the Gameness Pearl is still pretty solid. It remains a mainstay for Gameness, but has been replaced by the Gameness Feather and Gameness Air.Check out Gameness BJJ Gis at AmazonContinue reading
Without a doubt, one of my favorite BJJ athletes is Caio Terra. I had the chance to attend one of his seminars last year and it was a total game-changer for me. Not just in what we learned, but how well he taught the techniques and how important it was that we actually learned them. If you aren’t aware of his accomplishments, just check out what Caio did in 2012 alone!
I feel very fortunate to have the chance to interview him. There’s some great insights and even some funny answers below. Make sure you check out the last question about why Caio no longer likes skittles!

My name is Chad Kuhn, head instructor of Team East Coast/New Breed Ohio in Canton, Ohio. I have wanted a new black gi for a while, so when Gameness released the XT in black I knew I wanted to try it.
As soon as I opened the box, I thought wow this is a sick gi. The color of the contrast stitching and the embroidered pit bull logos…. everything looked great.
A couple of my training partners have the XT in white and said it ran a little big and didn’t shrink much at all.
Gameness makes a lot of different types of gis, with the Gameness Air gi being the lightest. The A3 (which I wear at 6’1″ and 210lbs.) weighs just shy of 3lbs. The gi is pre-shrunk and is marketed as one of the lightest gis on the market. Because of that, it will probably best serve as a competition gi or summer / hot-weather gi rather than a daily training gi.
With the exception of a few shoulder patches, the Gameness air gi is pretty understated and simple. There is no lapel patch which makes room for academy and sponsor patches.
