Well friends, it's about that time of the year again. Time for some good old summer BJJ training.
But I'll level with you. I'm about 6'1″ and about 200lbs. (on a good day).
I sweat. A lot. And there isn't anything more uncomfortable than training in a thick heavy gi during the summer.
With that in mind, we wanted to highlight a few of the best lightweight / summer gis that are out right now.Find your favorite lightweight gi at MMA Overload!
If you've been training jiu-jitsu for even a little while, you've probably heard of Defense. This line of soaps, oils, wipes, and other hygiene products is well known in the community for its reputation of fighting off bacterial and fungal infections that are common in contact sports and are passed around through skin-to-skin contact.
I had never been afflicted with any skin issues aside from dry skin, cuts, and mat burn as a result of my training, but after all the great things my friends had said about Defense products, I couldn't wait to try them out for myself. After testing them out for a few months, here are my opinions on a variety of their products. How did they stack up?Check out the Defense Soap Antifungal Bar on Amazon

For $90 shipped, you get an incredible ‘basic' gi and all of the patches to make it into the fully blinged out ‘Nascar status' gi you know I love.Find the related BJJ Gi at AmazonContinue reading

When people complete gi reviews, you always have to wonder if they've washed the gi first or if it is fresh from the retailer.
In the following paragraphs, we’ll be covering a few different things people need to be aware of.

GiReviews.Net: Tell us a bit about your background with martial arts.
Alex: My background in martial arts I think is pretty much how every kid growing up in the 80s got a start and that is through the magic of the legendary Jean-Claude Van Damme. If you asked me what the hardest decision I could make at the age of 3-7 is I'm pretty sure my response would have been whether or not I wanted an outfit when I became a ninja.Continue reading
