The Manto Select gi is a single weave lightweight gi with improved pants compared to Manto's first gi offering. There are extra belt loops and the pants have a rope drawstring similar to Shoyoroll gis. The fit is pretty snug (not baggy) and there is no seam on the back of the gi.

I’d been searching for a fairly basic light weight gi as promotions at our gym are coming up. I tend to have problems finding a gi that fits snug but also has the right sleeve length. I decided to try this joint out and also do my first review. **All pics are pre wash.
My measurements:
- Just about 6 ft tall
- 170 lbs
- long arms and legs
- broad shoulders
I emailed Manto and they recommended I get an A2 and cold wash and hang dry it to minimize shrinking. Out of the bag the gi fits well. I am very happy with it. sleeve length is great and could even be mint if they shrink a little bit. The pants length is also perfect, coming down to my ankles. The gi feels very light. The pants are canvas and the jacket is a single weave. The collar is thin but feels strong–IDK what the filling is for the collar.I really like this gi. Its nice and light and breathable. After training in it yesterday it does seem to get pretty damp with sweat; however, it is not heavy.
I noticed that some of the stitching around the knees is becoming loose, but it doesn’t seem to be weakening the pants. The pants are really nice some of the best Ive had.
The jacket has shrunk up nicely and it fits like a glove.I still recommend this gi. Its a good every day gi.
As far as the collar I don’t mind it. It is thin but not flimsy.
Here's a comparison with my War Gi and Padilla and Sons: Some loose threads on the gi and on the left arm embroidery–not a big deal. Speaking of embroidery, Manto chose to use no patches. There is the aforementioned manto logo on the left arm; “Manto” on the back of the gi; and “Manto” towards the bottom of the right pant leg. This gi is a tabula rasa, so if you want to put lots of patches on it there is plenty of room. There is taping in the cuffs of the sleeves and pants legs which is a nice subtle touch.
Standard reinforcements in the arm pits and vents.

The pants have four belt loops for the draw string. I happy to try this out as my other gis only have 2 loops. The drawstrings are really freaking long so I will have to cut them back some to make them perfect.

About Manto
Manto was founded back in 2004 by a group of entrepreneurs. Their expressed goal was to give an urban twist to fighting apparel. They typically combine big block urban style lettering with some cool graphics (especially on their rash guards). They're known for having a very clean look on their Brazilian jiu jitsu gis.
